All About Nia

Hello! My name is Nia Alston, and I am a sophomore at UTC from Dalton, Georgia. My major is Environmental Science with a concentration in Engineering Science. In my free time, I enjoy reading, baking, and going to the gym. After graduating, I want to work in Sustainability and continue my education by earning a graduate degree in Urban Planning. This blog will be used as a way to creatively express my growing science education and to gain experience science communication. Ecology is the branch of ecology that deals with the relations of organisms to one another and their physical surroundings, so the discipline is very important in the everyday life of humans. I see Ecology as an aspect that will help me have a deeper understanding of everyday interactions and happenings. I’m studying ecology to gain knowledge in urban ecology because I want to work in urban communities in the future. Personally, I hope other students and readers are able to learn with me this semester, as I grow in my knowledge of Ecology and science communication.
